IGH::MALT1; t(14;18)
Use
FISH test on hematologic specimens for detection of IGH::MALT1 gene fusion. This fusion, associated with t(14;18), may be observed in marginal zone B-cell lymphomas of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT lymphoma) cases.
Special Instructions
All attempts will be made to process and report samples received > 72 hours post-collection. Bone marrow is the sample of choice in most heme malignancies.
Limitations
The test is designed for clinical detection of IGH::MALT1 fusions in hematologic malignancies. Samples exposed to temperatures outside recommended range, clotted specimens, and those with insufficient cells are subject to rejection.
