MALT1 18q21 Rearrangement
Use
FISH test on hematologic specimens for detection of MALT1 (18q21) gene rearrangement. MALT1 rearrangements occur in approximately 25% of extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT lymphoma) cases.
Special Instructions
All attempts will be made to process and report samples received > 72 hours post-collection. Bone marrow is the sample of choice in most heme malignancies.
Limitations
Stated turnaround times (TATs) are for clinical use only and subject to change based on biopharma protocol requirements. Specimen rejection criteria include clotted specimens, exposure to extreme temperatures, toxic anticoagulants, and insufficient cell numbers.
