MelanA / MART1
Use
MelanA / MART1 is a melanocyte-specific cytoplasmic protein involved in the formation of stage II melanosomes. This marker is commonly used for the detection of melanoma.
Special Instructions
Fresh tissues must be stored at ambient temperature during shipment. Use a refrigerated (not frozen) gel pack to protect the specimens from extreme temperatures.
Limitations
Specimens must be fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin or B plus to be accepted for analysis. Other fixatives will lead to specimen rejection. Additionally, slides should be unbaked and made from positively charged glass to avoid background staining and tissue loss.
