MYB 6q Deletion
Use
FISH test on hematologic specimens for detection of MYB (6q23) deletion. MYB deletion is commonly observed in chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Special Instructions
All attempts will be made to process and report samples received > 72 hours post-collection. Bone marrow is the sample of choice in most heme malignancies.
Limitations
The test is designed for hematologic specimens and may not be suitable for other types of samples. Environmental factors such as specimen exposure to extreme temperature and the use of toxic anticoagulants can lead to rejected samples.
