PDGFRB 5q32 Rearrangement
Use
This FISH test is used for the detection of PDGFRB (5q32) gene rearrangement in hematologic specimens. The rearrangement of PDGFRB is often associated with chronic myeloproliferative disorders (CMPD), myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative syndromes (MDS/MPD), and acute myeloid leukemia (AML), frequently linked to symptoms like eosinophilia and splenomegaly. It is commonly ordered as part of the F EOSINOPHILA Panel.
Special Instructions
Bone marrow is the preferred sample type for most hematological malignancies. Efforts will be made to process samples received more than 72 hours post-collection.
Limitations
Turnaround times are primarily for clinical use and may vary according to specific biopharma protocol requirements. Final turnaround times will be confirmed in the biopharma study contract.
