Amyloid A & P
Use
Amyloid A and P stains react with amyloid deposits in many tissues. When interpreted alongside Congo Red staining, these immunohistochemical markers help distinguish primary versus secondary amyloidosis, providing important diagnostic differentiation.
Special Instructions
Testing options differ based on service level. For Global service, the Amyloid A & P panel must be ordered along with a Congo Red–stained slide; if unavailable, a consult is required for coordinated staining. For Tech-Only (stain-only) service, individual Amyloid A or Amyloid P stains may be ordered without a Congo Red slide.
