CLL FISH Panel
Also known as: Chronic lymphocytic leukemia
Use
The CLL FISH panel is used for the detection of chromosome aberrations observed in chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma, which are useful in prognosis and prediction of time to treatment in CLL patients when used in combination with other clinical and diagnostic findings. CCND1/IgH is used to rule out mantle cell leukemia/lymphoma.
Special Instructions
Test Customization: Probes may be ordered separately, except for probes for 12 and 13q are tested together, and ATM is tested with p53). Note for Tech Only clients: Please circle H&E slide. Note for NYS clients: Cut slides and paraffin block specimens are not accepted.
Limitations
The probes for chromosome 12 and 13q are tested together. ATM and p53 are tested together. This test does not detect all possible genetic variations associated with CLL. Other diagnostic methods and clinical findings should be used in conjunction with this test for accurate diagnosis and prognosis.
