Parvovirus Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Use
This test uses a monoclonal antibody clone, R92F6, to recognize a capsid protein of human parvovirus B19. It is used to detect cells infected with parvovirus, making it valuable for identifying viral participation in certain clinical conditions.
Special Instructions
Ensure block and slide identifiers are clearly written and match exactly with the specimen ID and labeling as noted on the requisition. For NYS clients, the date and time of collection should be provided.
Limitations
The test is limited to the detection of parvovirus-infected cells using the specified antibody. It may not detect all strains of the virus or differentiate between active and past infections. Standard immunohistochemistry limitations apply in terms of sensitivity and specificity.
