PTEN Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Use
Phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) is a tumor suppressor gene mutated in a wide range of cancers. It regulates cell proliferation, apoptosis, and migration. Reduced expression is observed in malignancies such as breast, prostate, and endometrial cancer, and in Cowden syndrome tumors. Loss of PTEN expression in breast and prostate cancer correlates with advanced disease stage. Studies suggest PTEN expression may predict response to Herceptin in HER2-positive breast cancer.
