RAS/RAF Panel
Also known as: RAS Mutation Analysis, RAF Mutation Analysis, RAS RAF, RAS RAF Panel
Use
The RAS/RAF Panel is an NGS-based assay designed to detect mutations across the full coding regions of key oncogenes—BRAF, HRAS, KRAS, and NRAS. It identifies mutations in the entire gene, including established hotspot regions in codons 12, 13, 59, 61, 117, and 146 as applicable, which can have important implications for diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic decisions in oncology, particularly in solid tumors where RAS/RAF pathway alterations drive tumor behavior.
Special Instructions
Preferred specimen is an FFPE tissue block. Alternatively, submit 1 H&E slide plus 10 unstained slides cut at 5 µm or thicker, using positively-charged slides and fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin (NBF); zinc fixatives are not acceptable. For transport, use a cold pack that is not in direct contact with the specimen. New York State clients must include date and time of collection.
