Universal Solid Tumor NGS Fusion Panel
Also known as: Universal Solid Tumor Fusion Panel
Use
The Universal Solid Tumor NGS Fusion Panel is an RNA-based NGS panel that detects translocations and fusions with both known and novel fusion partners of genes associated with various solid tumors, especially those that are difficult-to-diagnose or of uncertain histogenesis.
Special Instructions
As of May 12, 2025, this test replaces several specific panels that are no longer offered, including Breast, Lung, and Colorectal NGS Fusion Panels among others.
Limitations
This panel primarily targets the detection of translocations and fusions, so mutations or copy number variations may not be accurately detected. It is designed to assess RNA-level changes, which may not reflect DNA-level variations.
