Amplify™ Sponsored Testing Program
Use
The Amplify™ Sponsored Testing Program is a no-charge genetic testing and counseling initiative designed to identify genetic causes of auditory neuropathy in pediatric patients. Genetic testing can help determine if the hearing loss is hereditary, which might account for more than half of pediatric cases. The program is intended for patients under the age of 18 with medical histories consistent with auditory neuropathy diagnosis, such as absent or highly abnormal auditory brainstem response, while preserving otoacoustic emissions and/or cochlear microphonic.
Special Instructions
To qualify for the program, patients must be under 18 and show medical history consistent with auditory neuropathy. The program provides telehealth genetic counseling via telephone at no cost, conducted by Genome Medical, to help patients and providers interpret genetic testing results. Testing is supported by Sano Genetics, which may offer additional counseling services. Collection kits for specimens like blood, saliva, or buccal swabs are provided with prepaid return shipping for U.S. clients.
Limitations
This test, not FDA approved, only screens for gene mutations related to hereditary hearing loss and does not cover other potential genetic conditions. Results are not intended for diagnostic purposes and should be discussed with healthcare professionals to confirm diagnoses and plan management strategies. The testing company conducting the analysis, independent from Sano Genetics, is not responsible for meeting specific participant requirements.
