Chronic Pancreatitis Panel
Use
This test is designed for individuals who exhibit clinical or suspected indications of chronic pancreatitis, those who have unexplained pancreatitis after ruling out other causes, those with symptom onset before the age of 35, and individuals with a family history of pancreatitis within first- or second-degree relatives. It aids in confirming a clinical diagnosis and guiding management by identifying genetic causes of the condition.
Special Instructions
TAT can be 2-3 weeks or 7-16 days for STAT processing. It involves NGS with CNV using Exome or Genome Platforms. Ensure proper specimen collection as per suggested guidelines for blood, DNA, buccal, saliva, or tissue samples.
Limitations
As with any genetic test, results may not identify all carriers, and false negatives and positives may occur. Interpret results in the clinical context and consider additional testing if necessary. Results may not clarify all aspects of risk, especially in novel or uncommon variants.
