DetectHypopara™ Sponsored Testing Program
Use
The DetectHypopara™ Sponsored Testing Program is designed to provide genetic testing for individuals diagnosed with or suspected of having hypoparathyroidism or related conditions. This no-charge program aims to identify genetic causes in patients with non-surgical or idiopathic hypoparathyroidism, as well as those with hypocalcemia suspected to be genetic in origin, and relatives of individuals with genetic hypoparathyroidism.
Special Instructions
This program is available to patients residing in the U.S. or Canada who meet specific diagnostic criteria. Sample collection kits can be ordered and counseling is offered through GeneMatters, an independent service. The program does not charge patients or clinics for the testing or counseling services.
Limitations
Testing is dependent on the quality and quantity of the DNA sample. Contaminated samples may cause delays or require resubmission. Results should be interpreted in the context of the individual patient's clinical presentation and family history.
