Use
Arginase‑1 is a urea cycle metalloenzyme specifically expressed in hepatocytes and serves as a marker in the identification and differentiation of hepatocellular carcinoma. This technical‑component‑only IHC stain provides the immunostain without pathologist interpretation; interpretation should be performed in the context of other clinical and diagnostic data by a qualified pathologist.
Special Instructions
This test performs only the technical staining component (no pathologist interpretation). If diagnostic consultation or interpretation is required, a separate pathology consultation test (e.g., PATHC) must be ordered.
Limitations
Age and storage of cut paraffin sections can affect immunoreactivity; sections should ideally be cut within six weeks. Charged glass slides exposed to humidity, heat, or plastic may yield inconsistent staining. Best practice is minimal storage exposure. Controls must show appropriate immunoreactivity for valid technical performance.
