Use
CA 15‑3 is a tumor marker assay used primarily to monitor disease progression or therapeutic response in patients with metastatic breast cancer, to assist in early detection of recurrence when used alongside clinical information and other diagnostic methods. It is not intended as a screening test for early-stage breast cancer.

Limitations
Interference may occur in rare cases due to human anti‑mouse antibodies (HAMA), streptavidin or ruthenium antibodies. Caution is advised if results do not align with clinical presentation.
