Use
This test analyzes the CFTR gene's intron 8 poly‑T tract to assist in the diagnosis and screening of cystic fibrosis spectrum conditions. It is used in evaluation of individuals with phenotypes associated with mild cystic fibrosis, congenital bilateral absence of the vas deferens (CBAVD), idiopathic pancreatitis, bronchiectasis; to confirm CBAVD diagnosis in infertile males; and to determine poly‑T status in individuals positive for the R117H mutation.
