Drug Toxicology Cocaine, with Confirmation, Oral Fluid
Use
This oral fluid test screens for cocaine and, if the presumptive screening is equal to or exceeds cutoff, performs confirmation testing. Oral fluid testing offers a convenient, observable collection alternative to urine, with drugs detectable sooner and cleared faster—for instance, cocaine detection can be as short as a few hours post-use, offering detection windows of roughly 1–2 days. It supports drug monitoring programs in pre‑employment, random, reasonable suspicion, return‑to‑duty, and post‑accident contexts.
Special Instructions
Uses Quantisal™ oral fluid collection device. Collection is observed and takes approximately 5–10 minutes. Provides enhanced tamper resistance and ensures sufficient volume (approximately 1 mL). This test is part of Quest's employer solutions drug testing menu; components can be ordered separately.
Limitations
Oral fluid has a shorter detection window than urine; cocaine may be detectable only for a few hours up to roughly 1–2 days. Screening is by immunoassay; positive presumptive results require confirmatory testing (GC/MS or GC‑MS/MS). Specimen rejection possible if not collected in Quantisal™ device, contains debris or multiple swabs, or lacks saturation.
