Order TestUse
The presence of Epstein‑Barr virus (EBV) in tumors or reactive tissues can be detected by expression of the EBV‑associated small RNAs (EBERs) using in situ hybridization. EBER expression is seen in all EBV‑associated malignancies including classical Hodgkin lymphoma (most commonly mixed cellularity type), nasopharyngeal carcinoma, post‑transplant B‑cell lymphoproliferative disorders, a subset of diffuse large B‑cell lymphomas, extranodal NK/T‑cell lymphoma, nasal type, and some childhood T‑cell lymphoproliferative disorders.
