FISH, Locus-specific Probe (x2)
Use
This test performs interphase fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) analysis using two probes targeting a user-identified locus, analyzing approximately 100–300 cells. It is used in conjunction with G-banding chromosome analysis to evaluate specific chromosomal abnormalities at the targeted locus. In the absence of chromosome analysis, tissue culture charges may be incurred, and orders may be changed to a Cytogenetics Communication if results are unattainable.
Special Instructions
The specific locus must be identified at the time of ordering. The test is performed in addition to G-banding chromosome analysis and may incur additional tissue culture charges if chromosome analysis is not ordered. If results are not possible, the order may be canceled and replaced with a Cytogenetics Communication.
