Hepatitis D Virus (HDV) infection occurs only in association with Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) infection. A positive result for HDV IgM indicates either recent HDV infection or chronic HDV infection with IgM persistence.

Not provided.
Limitations
Hemolyzed, visibly hyperlipemic, icteric, and contaminated samples must be avoided as they may generate false results. Body fluids other than serum are not acceptable.
