Leptin
Use
This test measures the level of leptin, a hormone released from adipose tissue that helps regulate appetite, metabolism, and long-term body weight balance. Leptin provides a signal to the brain regarding the body’s energy stores—higher body fat generally corresponds to higher leptin levels, while lower body fat corresponds to lower levels. Understanding leptin levels can aid clinicians in evaluating appetite regulation, energy balance, and weight regulation strategies.
