Performing Lab
Sunflower Seed (k84) IgE
Also known as: ImmunoCAP®
Clinical Use
Order TestUse
This test detects the presence of specific IgE against sunflower seeds. A positive test only indicates that a person is sensitized and potentially allergic to this allergen. A diagnosis of allergy requires clinical signs and symptoms that appear to be associated with exposure to the allergen in addition to the detection of markers of IgE sensitization.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
A positive result indicates sensitization but does not confirm clinical allergy; diagnosis requires correlation with clinical signs and symptoms.
