Special Instructions

For accurate results, multiple patient encounters should be avoided. Serum should be separated from cells as soon as possible, or within 2 hours of collection. Limitations

The test measures allergen-specific IgE concentrations, but these do not always correlate directly with clinical allergy symptoms or the severity of allergic reactions. Some patients with positive test results may not experience clinical symptoms upon exposure to the allergen, and in contrast, negative results do not completely rule out the possibility of an allergy or anaphylactic reaction. Therefore, the results should only be interpreted in the context of comprehensive clinical assessment, including testing history and physical examination.
