Use
The test measures the levels of Immunoglobulin E (IgE) specific to Hamster Epithelium allergens. It is used in the diagnosis of allergic diseases and assists in identifying allergen-specific sensitivities in patients. The results help correlate allergic symptoms with the presence of allergen-specific IgE, guiding treatment and management decisions.
Special Instructions
Multiple patient encounters should be avoided to ensure accurate results. The specimen must be collected in a serum separator tube and processed immediately to prevent degradation. Refer to 'Allergen Specimen Collection Instructions' for additional details when ordering multiple allergen tests.
Limitations
The concentration of allergen-specific IgE detected through this assay may not directly correlate with the severity of clinical symptoms or skin test results upon allergen exposure. The test cannot rule out the possibility of clinical allergy or anaphylaxis despite a negative reaction. Clinical correlation with a patient's history and in vivo reactivity is essential to interpret results accurately.
