Use
This test measures the level of casein-specific IgE in the blood using Quantitative ImmunoCAP Fluorescent Enzyme Immunoassay. It helps in assessing the likelihood of an allergic reaction to casein, a protein found in milk. The test's results should be interpreted in conjunction with the patient's clinical history and in vivo reactions. Allergen results in the range of 0.10-0.34 kU/L are intended for specialist use as the clinical relevance is undetermined.

Limitations
Although quantitative increases in allergen-specific IgE reflect increasing concentrations, they may not correlate precisely with the degree of clinical response. A negative result does not rule out the presence of a clinical allergy or even anaphylaxis. The correlation with clinical history and in vivo reactivity is crucial for accurate diagnosis.
