Use

The Allergen, Food, Cucumber IgE test is used to measure the level of Immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies specific to cucumber allergens in the patient’s serum. It is a quantitative test that helps in identifying potential allergic responses to cucumber, aiding in the diagnosis and management of food allergies. The test results need to be correlated with the patient's clinical history, symptoms, and other relevant findings to determine the clinical relevance.

Special Instructions

Multiple patient encounters should be avoided to prevent variability in results. Serum should be separated from cells as soon as possible, preferably within 2 hours of collection, to ensure the integrity of the specimen. Limitations

This test quantitatively measures allergen-specific IgE, but the levels may not directly correlate with the severity of the allergic reaction or skin test results. Results of 0.10-0.34 kU/L can be clinically unclear without specialist evaluation, and negative results do not rule out the presence of an allergy or risk of anaphylaxis. Clinical interpretation should consider the complete patient history and other diagnostic results.
