Allergen, Fungi and Molds, Aspergillus niger IgE

Use
This test is used to detect the presence of Immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies specific to the fungus Aspergillus niger. It is primarily used to assess potential allergic reactions in individuals suspected of having an allergy to this specific mold. The test is particularly useful in conjunction with clinical history and in vivo reactivity to evaluate allergy status or potential anaphylaxis, as IgE concentrations may not directly correlate with clinical response.
Special Instructions
Please review the Specimen Collection and Handling Instructions to ensure adequate volume for allergen testing. Multiple patient encounters should be avoided. Limitations
Allergen results between 0.10-0.34 kU/L are intended for use by specialists as the clinical relevance is undetermined. Although increasing IgE concentrations reflect increasing allergen-specific IgE, they may not correlate with the degree of clinical response or skin test results. A negative test does not rule out clinical allergy or anaphylaxis. Correlation with clinical history and in vivo reactivity is essential.
