Allergen, Fungi and Molds, Aureobasidium pullulans

Use
This test measures the level of IgE antibodies specific to the mold Aureobasidium pullulans in a patient's serum. These IgE levels can help diagnose allergic reactions associated with exposure to this mold, which can cause respiratory issues and other allergy symptoms. The results can assist healthcare providers in assessing the presence and intensity of an allergic reaction to Aureobasidium pullulans.
Special Instructions
Multiple patient encounters should be avoided. Serum should be separated from cells as soon as possible or within two hours of collection and transferred to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. If ordering multiple allergen tests, refer to ARUP's Allergen Specimen Collection Instructions.
Limitations
The test results reflect the concentration of allergen-specific IgE but do not necessarily correlate with the severity of clinical symptoms or skin test results. The correlation between laboratory results and clinical history or in vivo reactivity is essential. A negative result does not exclude the possibility of allergy or anaphylaxis.
