Use
The Allergen, Tree, Elm Tree test is used to detect specific IgE antibodies to Elm tree allergens. It assists in the diagnosis of allergic diseases, like rhinitis and asthma, related to Elm tree pollen exposure. Measuring allergen-specific IgE helps guide clinical management and allergy interventions by correlating laboratory findings with clinical history and in vivo reactions to specific allergens.
Special Instructions
Multiple patient encounters should be avoided for accurate results. It is crucial to separate serum from cells as soon as possible or within 2 hours of collection. Limitations
The concentration of allergen-specific IgE may not directly correlate with the degree of clinical response in symptomatic challenges. Low levels of allergen-specific IgE (0.10-0.34kU/L) have undetermined clinical relevance and require specialist interpretation. Negative results do not conclusively rule out allergy or anaphylaxis. Allergen-specific IgE concentrations can reflect reaction potentials; however, clinical correlation is essential for accurate diagnosis and management.
