It can help in assessing sensitization to White Mulberry Tree allergens, providing information that is valuable in clinical management. Special Instructions
Multiple patient encounters should be avoided to reduce errors in patient preparation and collection. It is important to separate serum from cells as soon as possible or within 2 hours of collection to ensure sample integrity. Transfer the required serum volume to a standard ARUP Transport Tube for processing.
Limitations
Allergen results in the range of 0.10-0.34 kU/L are intended for specialist use as the clinical relevance is undetermined. Although increasing concentrations of allergen-specific IgE reflect increased sensitization, they may not directly correlate with clinical response severity or skin test results. Negative results do not rule out the presence of clinical allergy or anaphylaxis. The relationship between laboratory results and clinical history should be carefully considered.
