Use
The Allergens, Tree Profile test is designed to quantitatively measure allergen-specific IgE antibodies in human serum. This test is significant for identifying sensitization to various tree allergens, assisting clinicians in diagnosing allergic conditions in patients, and helping in the management of allergic symptoms. Evaluating IgE levels in response to specific allergens can aid in correlating laboratory results with clinical allergy history and in vivo reactivity to these allergens.
Special Instructions
Separate serum from cells as soon as possible, and no later than two hours after collection. Use an ARUP Standard Transport Tube for transport. Avoid using multiple specimen tubes to prevent sample contamination or confusion, ensuring accurate allergy test results.
Limitations
This test measures the concentration of allergen-specific IgE antibodies, but it does not necessarily correlate with the degree of clinical symptoms or skin test reactivity. A negative result does not rule out the possibility of an allergy or anaphylactic reaction. Results with IgE levels from 0.10-0.34 kU/L should be interpreted with caution as the clinical relevance is undetermined. Therefore, correlation with clinical history and in vivo allergen reactivity is essential for accurate diagnosis.
