α-Amylase
Use
The α-Amylase test is used to detect and measure the level of specific IgE antibodies that the immune system may produce in response to α-Amylase exposure. These antibodies can indicate an allergic reaction that might be attributed to α-Amylase, commonly used in food processing or present in other environments.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
The test results should be interpreted in conjunction with additional clinical findings and diagnostic procedures. Variability in IgE levels may occur due to cross-reactivity with similar proteins, interfering substances, or other immune response conditions not specific to α-Amylase. Allergic reaction severity cannot be directly extrapolated from IgE levels alone.
