Anti-Contactin-Associated Protein-2 (CASPR2), Serum
Use
The Anti-Contactin-associated protein-2 (CASPR2) IgG antibody is part of the voltage-gated potassium channel (VGKC) complex antibodies. CASPR2 autoantibodies often occur in elderly males, and patients with these antibodies commonly present with conditions such as neuromyotonia, Morvan's syndrome, limbic encephalitis, and neuropathic pain syndromes. This test aids in diagnosing CASPR2 antibody-related disorders and is valuable for managing antibody-positive individuals following immunotherapy and/or plasmapheresis.
