Antibody Screen RBC with Reflex to Identification

Use
This test detects and identifies unexpected antibodies directed against red blood cell antigens. It is used in pretransfusion testing, organ/tissue transplantation, evaluation of transfusion reactions, and to assess the risk for hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN).
Special Instructions
If the Antibody Screen is positive, an Antibody Identification will be added, and additional charges may apply. The test should be refrigerated during transport.
Limitations
Plasma separator tubes are unacceptable. The stability of the specimen at ambient temperature is not acceptable, while refrigerated specimens are stable for one week. Frozen specimens are unacceptable.
