Use
Aid in the diagnosis of urine concentration disorders, especially diabetes insipidus, syndrome of inappropriate ADH (SIADH), psychogenic water intoxication, and syndromes of ectopic ADH production
Special Instructions
Ensure no isotopes are administered 24 hours before venipuncture. Use a refrigerated centrifuge to separate serum and plasma samples, transferring them into clearly labeled plastic transport tubes. Freeze the plasma immediately and refrigerate serum. To avoid delays, submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested.
Limitations
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by Labcorp. It has not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration, which could limit its recognized validity in certain regulatory environments.
