Use
This technical component test performs immunohistochemical (IHC) staining for CD3 on tissue or cell block specimens, useful in diagnostic immunohistochemistry to identify T‑cell lineage in histopathologic samples. It is performed as a stain-and-return service in a laboratory setting.
Special Instructions
This test is New York state approved. It must be ordered via electronic request or by using ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Form (#32978) if electronic ordering capability is not available. Tissue block or at least two unstained (3‑5 µm) positively charged slides (minimum 2 slides) should be submitted using ARUP supply #47808; if sending precut slides, do not oven bake. Transport at room temperature or refrigerated; ship in a cooled container during summer months. Ambient and refrigerated storage stability is indefinitely; frozen specimens are unacceptable. Depleted or non-representative tissue specimens are not acceptable.
Limitations
This assay is a technical, stain-and-return service only; it does not include interpretive services. Specimens that are depleted or non-representative will be rejected. Frozen specimens are unacceptable. Slides should not be oven baked if precut. Clinical interpretation must be performed elsewhere.
