This could include germline massively parallel sequencing (MPS), somatic MPS, or testing for somatic hotspot variants in genes. It serves as a preparatory step, ensuring DNA is available and in a usable state for future genetic analyses, specific to patient's clinical needs. As a laboratory-developed test (LDT), it adheres to CLIA guidelines for clinical applicability.
