This test detects the presence of specific IgE antibodies directed against honey bee (i1) allergen. A positive result indicates sensitization to honey bee venom, but clinical correlation—symptoms following exposure—is required to establish a diagnosis of true allergy. It informs evaluation of allergic reaction risk in individuals potentially exposed to honey bee venom.
