Limitations
The assay is limited to detecting the presence of six specific HPV viral types: HPV 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, and 33. It does not detect other HPV types. The results depend on the quality and quantity of the tissue sample submitted. Insufficient tissue or improper sample collection can invalidate results. The test is not FDA cleared or approved, indicating that its performance characteristics were established by LabCorp itself.
