Japanese Cedar (t17) IgE
Also known as: ImmunoCAP®
Use
This test quantifies an individual’s IgE response to Japanese cedar pollen (Cryptomeria japonica). It aids in identifying sensitization to this allergen, which may manifest as seasonal allergic symptoms; however, a positive result indicates sensitization—not necessarily clinical allergy—and should be interpreted within the overall clinical context by a qualified provider.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
A positive result only indicates sensitization; many sensitized individuals remain asymptomatic. Diagnosis of clinical allergy should involve correlation with symptoms and clinical evaluation.
