Use

This test aids in the diagnosis of aggressive large B-cell lymphoma with features intermediate between Burkitt lymphoma and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and is used to confirm suspected double-hit lymphoma. It is designed to identify double hit and triple hit lymphomas, which are aggressive lymphomas characterized by a poor survival rate with intermediate morphological features between diffuse large B-Cell lymphoma and Burkitt lymphoma.

Special Instructions

A processing fee will be charged if the procedure is canceled after setup or if specimen integrity is inadequate for culture growth. Different specimen types may incur different fees. To order probes separately, refer to Chromosome FISH, Interphase (2002298). This test must be ordered using Oncology test request form #43099 or through your ARUP interface. If chromosome analysis is not performed at ARUP on the same sample, a Bone Marrow/PBL Culture Processing Fee (0093271) will be added.

Limitations

The test uses Fluorescence in situ Hybridization (FISH) and may not identify all potential rearrangement partners. Frozen, clotted, or paraffin-embedded specimens are unacceptable for testing. Interpretation may be compromised if clinical indications or specimen type are not provided with the test order. This test has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration; it is developed by ARUP Laboratories, a CLIA-certified laboratory, intended for clinical purposes.
