Rett Syndrome is a neurodevelopmental disorder primarily affecting girls, characterized by normal initial development followed by a regression in skills. Common manifestations include seizures and autistic features. In males, most MECP2 variants lead to severe neonatal conditions. MECP2 duplications involve varying severity, particularly affecting males. This test is indicated for patients suspected of these conditions, being pivotal in guiding management and genetic counseling from early diagnosis.
Special Instructions

Limitations
While the MECP2 analysis effectively detects the majority of pathogenic variants in the gene, there may be rare mutations that are not identified.
