Paraneoplastic Antibody Evaluation with Reflex to Titer and LB, Basic, CSF
Also known as: Brain antibody, Anti-neuronal antibody
Use
Detection of antineuronal autoantibodies aids in the diagnosis of paraneoplastic syndromes and autoimmune encephalopathies. The initial screening is performed using tissue indirect immunofluorescence (IFA) on neuronal tissues. If suspicious results are observed, reflex testing is performed via cell-based assays (CBA) for select neuronal antigens (e.g., AQP4, ANNA3, PCA2) or line blot (LB) testing for other paraneoplastic antibodies to characterize autoantibody specificity and guide diagnostic evaluation.
