Use
Testing for antineural antibodies in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) helps evaluate suspected autoimmune neurologic disease involving the central nervous system. Detection of antineural antibodies may support a diagnosis, inform treatment decisions, and guide malignancy evaluation.
Special Instructions
This broad panel is being replaced effective April 21, 2025; refer to ARUP Test 3018967. If reflexed, additional titers may be added depending on antibody positivity.
Limitations
The panel does not include all known antineural antibodies; emerging or rare antibodies of uncertain clinical significance are not covered. Clinical context is essential for result interpretation and negativity does not exclude autoimmune neurologic disease.
