Performing Lab
Procainamide and NAPA, Serum
Clinical Use
Order TestUse
Procainamide is used to treat a variety of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias. Metabolism of procainamide produces an active metabolite, N‑Acetylprocainamide (NAPA). The concentration of both procainamide and NAPA levels are monitored to assure adequate therapeutic levels of procainamide are achieved and to avoid toxicity.
