Special Instructions
Ensure proper collection in serum separator tube or alternatives such as plain red, pink (K2EDTA), plasma separator tube (PST), green (sodium heparin), or green (lithium heparin) tubes. Transfer of 1 mL serum or plasma is required to an ARUP standard transport tube, ensuring correct handling and transport conditions.
Limitations
The test is not cleared or approved by the US FDA. It is developed and performed in a CLIA-certified laboratory intended for clinical purposes. Grossly hemolyzed specimens are unacceptable, which may impact the accuracy of the results, necessitating proper specimen handling and storage, particularly in avoiding exposure to room temperature beyond specified durations.
