Allergen, Food, Rye
Also known as: RYE
Use
This test is used to quantitatively measure the concentration of IgE antibodies specific to rye allergen in the blood. An increase in IgE antibodies may be indicative of an allergic reaction to rye. The results need to be correlated with the clinical history and current reactivity to rye allergens to properly evaluate allergy status.
Special Instructions
Please review the Specimen Collection and Handling Instructions to ensure adequate volume for allergen testing. Multiple patient encounters should be avoided for accurate results.
Limitations
Allergen results are for specialist use. The correlation between IgE concentrations and clinical response or skin testing results may vary. The test may not detect all cases of clinical allergy or anaphylaxis. A negative result does not rule out the possibility of allergic reactions.
