Allergen, Tree, Black Willow IgE
Also known as: B WILLOW
Use
The Allergen, Tree, Black Willow IgE test helps in diagnosing allergic reactions specifically related to Black Willow trees. This specific IgE blood test quantifies the amount of IgE antibodies to Black Willow allergens present in the blood, assisting in determining the patient's allergic sensitivity level. Physicians use these data, along with clinical histories and other allergy test results, to detect specific allergen sensitivities and confirm allergic conditions.
Special Instructions
This test requires a separate specimen if multiple tests are ordered simultaneously. Appropriate specimen collection involves transferring the serum to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube shortly after separation from cells. Storage options include room temperature, refrigerated, or frozen. Ensure to add the required additional volume for each allergen tested.
Limitations
The performance characteristics of this test were developed and determined by Eurofins Viracor, but it has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The test measures specific IgE antibodies quantitatively, and its results depend on the proper specimen collection and handling. Hemolyzed, icteric, or lipemic specimens are unacceptable and may lead to inaccurate results.
