Chromosome FISH, Multiple Myeloma Panel Process and Hold
Also known as: MMF PR &HLD
Use
This process-and-hold FISH test is used when the clinical necessity for FISH is uncertain at the time of bone marrow collection; it allows CD138+ sorting on a fresh specimen and retention of a pellet for potential future Multiple Myeloma FISH testing (e.g., Multiple Myeloma Panel by FISH test code 3002063).
Special Instructions
This test must be ordered using the Oncology Test Request Form #43099 or via the ARUP interface. It is not sufficient to use the component test code alone for order or interface builds.
Limitations
Refer to report for reference intervals and interpretive data. The test is a process and hold—not the full FISH panel—and pending clinical necessity, further testing (Multiple Myeloma Panel by FISH) may be needed.
